🧶 Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn:

🧩 Step 1: Granny Squares (Make 12–16)

You’ll need:

  • 8–10 solid/neutral squares (cream)

  • 4–6 colorful sunburst squares (for straps + accents)

Basic Granny Square Pattern

  1. Magic ring

  2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc, ch 2; repeat 3 more times, sl st to join

  3. Round 2: In each corner: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc), sides: 3 dc

  4. Continue until square is ~4–5 inches

  5. Fasten off

👉 For colorful squares, change colors each round.

🌼 Step 2: Sunburst / Flower Squares (for straps)

  1. Magic ring

  2. Round 1: 12 dc in ring

  3. Round 2: Puff stitches in each stitch (creates “petals”)

  4. Round 3: Work into spaces to form square shape

  5. Add final round in cream to match bag

🌸 Step 3: 3D Crochet Flowers (Make 5–7)

Simple flower:

  1. Magic ring, (ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, sl st) ×5

  2. Pull tight, fasten off

  3. Sew onto bag later

🧱 Step 4: Assemble the Bag

Layout:

  • Front panel: 2 × 2 squares

  • Back panel: 2 × 2 squares

  • Sides: 1 square each side

  • Bottom: 2 squares

Join using:

  • Slip stitch OR whip stitch OR single crochet join

🎒 Step 5: Straps
