🌸 Popcorn Flower Granny Square Pattern
Materials
Worsted weight yarn
4.5–5 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
Stitches used
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
pc = popcorn stitch (explained below)
Popcorn stitch (pc)
Make 5 dc in the same stitch, remove hook, insert into first dc, pull loop through → forms a puff/popcorn.
Pattern
Round 1 (center)
Magic ring
Ch 3 (counts as dc), make 11 dc into ring
Join with sl st (12 stitches total)
Round 2 (form flower)
Ch 1
(pc in next stitch, ch 2) repeat around
Join with sl st at first pc
👉 You should have 12 popcorns forming a flower
Round 3 (build spacing)
Sl st into next ch-2 space
Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in same space
(3 dc in next ch-2 space) repeat around, except every 3rd space do:
3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc (this forms corners)Join with sl st
👉 You now have a square shape forming
Round 4 (openwork round)
Sl st to corner space
(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner
Ch 1, 3 dc in next space, ch 1
Repeat along sides and corners
Join with sl st
Round 5 (border)
Sl st to corner
(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in each corner
3 dc in each side space (with ch 1 between if you want it airy)
